The Weekend
Monday, 22 September 2008
I took the weekend off of blogging. Watched 4 DVD’s and wrote 10 pages of the new script (see below). Never even left the house and it was awesome. It rained outside anyways.
Watched (in this order) -
Inglorious Bastards – Super fun!
Smart People – Not as fun as I hoped & expected
Bella – Holy crap go see this beautiful movie. I had never even heard of it.
&
Starting Out in the Evening – Worth a rent if you have Netflix. I can’t say any more. Still haven’t figured out where to put this movie in my head, how to summarize it. But I do recommend it, the performances could not have been better.
Oh and – I finished readingĀ “The Lovely Bones”
What a devastating book. And like the title says, quite lovely. It made me cry and I’m a cold hearted bastard. I can’t wait to see the movie that’s being made by Peter Jackson. If you are a reader then I recommend you read this book.
This morning was cold, wet and grey, almost exactly like the place I grew up. Southern California is looking closer every day.
Oh… I also did some push-ups over the weekend.

seriously…the lovely bones is one of the most heartbreakingly beautiful books ever written. i’m looking forward to the movies as well although peter jackson has his work cut out for him. i’m expecting a lot. and i know he’ll be distraught if i don’t approve. hopefully the fear isn’t paralyzing.
so, what’s the show you were talking about? no details? fine. are you gonna be on the new 90210? i KNEW it.

I have been meaning to get back to doing push ups.
It’s good to see you are still alive and kicking.

I was recently lucky enough to see “The Fall” in theaters.
It’s already out on DVD in the states I believe.
Story can be a bit flat and gets a bit tedious in the latter half,
but definitely the most beautiful movie I’ve seen this year.
If you haven’t, and have a love for movies (you’ll know what I mean)
treat yourself to it.

I thought Smart People was kind of a drag too. Also not as good as I was hoping. I gave an autographed copy of “The Lovely Bones” to my quasi mother-in-law, so yeah, that book is awesome!
