So I’ll take you with me

I miss our phone conversations. I miss hearing your enthusiasm for whatever your currently working on, or learning, or about to do or have just done. I miss sharing this creative journey with you.
And yes, we talked often of getting together, of spending more time. And its ironic that in the last couple months I’ve spent more time with you than in years. Probably the most time since we lived together almost two decades ago. And its hard to sit at your side and not be able to talk with you. But its much harder to leave because I cant just pick up the phone and hear your voice and always your same parting words, “Love you bro.”
And yes we’re different men but we are brothers and your my oldest friend. And we might wear our pants differently but underneath the things like that are the things that matter most and there you will find all the ways that we are most definitely brothers. I’ve never felt as strong or as brave standing next to any other man.
But I cant always be at your side right now. I’m a hunter gatherer too and there are mountains yet to climb and rivers to cross and I may need your strength in this so I’ll take you with me.
I’ll take you with me.
